Our Team

The OmniCom team bring a wealth of experience across IT, systems, networking, audio visual equipment and telephony.

We are constantly learning and like to keep each other on our toes! Find out more about our team and their key skills below!

Paul Tomlinson

Founder and Managing Director

Paul has obviously been with OmniCom since its inception. Even before joining OmniCom he already had over 25 years of IT experience with some of the UK’s largest blue chip companies including Unilever, Marconi, ICI and BP Oil.

Paul is married to Julie and has lived in Durham for the past 15 years. With 3 older children now left home his spare time is spent between fighting off relegation at Sunderland football club and Max the dog. Paul and Julie met while working at Marconi programing heavyweight torpedoes in the 1980s.

Julie Tomlinson

Purchasing Manager

The southerner of OmniCom, Julie was born in Cambridge and has slowly edged further North ever since. Her background was as a legal secretary for Rio-Tinto Zinc and subsequently Barclays Bank but she entered the cut-throat world of purchasing when she joined OmniCom at its inception. Julie now sources all equipment for OmniCom’s many and varied projects.

A mother of 3 grown up children Julie now leads a life of leisure in leafy Houghall in Durham. Her ample leisure time is spent walking her dog Max and renovating her family home.

Kylie Myers

Sales Manager

Kylie is the longest serving member of the team having joined when she was only 16 (back in 2006).

Starting as an admin apprentice, Kylie has grown into the foundations of Omnicom, guiding colleagues and customers on a daily basis.

She is on hand to help with all aspects of Sales, Admin and customer enquiries.

Away from Omnicom most of Kylie’s time is spent looking after her son Harvey.

Carl Hudson

Account Manager

Carl joined the team in 2021 bringing with him a range of IT knowledge. Carl enjoys all things technical and even more so if there is an exam to take on it.

From Technical Support to Sales his experience within computing allows him to provide enhanced Account Management to our customers.

When Carl isn’t providing assistance to his customers you will find him in the gym burning off the three lunches he has had earlier that day!

You’d also not think it but Carl also thinks of himself as a “Mr Hinch”, ensuring his house work is completed with military precision.

Liam McShane

Technician

Liam joined our TechShare team back in August 2019 and has been working in our schools across the North East ever since. Liam studied IT at Darlington College and progressed onto Northumbria University to study Computer Networking and Cyber Security. He has 3 years previous working experience in the IT Industry, however has his own experience in IT for over 11 years. Liam tells us his specialities are Computer Hardware and looking gorgeous.

Liam originally hails from Newton Aycliffe, but is now living in East Rainton. His interests outside of work consist of Motorsports whether it’s watching F1 and MotoGP on the TV or his annual visit to Croft to watch the British Touring Cars. When he’s not watching Motorsport, he enjoys playing video games and pampering his cat, Daisy.

Mark Duffy

Senior Engineer

Mark has been with OmniCom since 2010 when he joined our expanding TechShare team. He actually came from an identical background where he had been performing ICT support on behalf of a number of Durham schools for the previous 5 years. Mark specialises in ICT Support and has recently given up his TechShare status for a new challenge in our office bringing his tea making skills with him.

Away from work Mark just loves IT, he lives, breaths and sleeps IT and fixes IT problems for fun. He’s another of OmniCom’s County Durham band but now lives in Sunderland.

Chris Teesdale

Service Delivery Manager

Chris has been with OmniCom since 2008 and lives in Newton Aycliffe. He had worked in the IT industry since finishing College. He has experience of working in the Private sector and the public sector. He previously worked for the Ministry of Defence in the Civil Service doing ICT Support for the Royal Air Force. He specialises in Windows & Linux Server systems and network security.

Chris’ interests outside of work consist of online PC gaming (Team Fortress 2 & Counter-Strike) as well as his Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo sports car.

Dave McGuigan

Operations Manager

Dave only joined OmniCom in 2014 but immediately made a big impact. He was brought in to specifically improve our Support and Maintenance provision and his 15 years of IT experience has helped him achieve that in double quick time. Dave has previously worked in a diverse range of IT roles including local authorities and another local IT support company.

Dave lives way out West in Consett with his partner Laura and their cat. Away from IT Dave is something of an old rocker whether he’s traipsing around the North-East attending gigs or making his annual trip to Glastonbury for his week long drink fueled pilgrimage. His major contribution to OmniCom appears to be changing our radio listening habits from Metro Radio to Smooth FM.

Adam Starkie

TechShare Technician

Adam has only been with OmniCom since 2012 when he joined as part of our TechShare team covering schools across the North-East. He has worked in IT since 1999 so brings with him a wealth of IT experience. Adam specialises in ICT support and works in the TechShare team servicing almost 20 of his schools across the North-East.

Away from work Adam enjoys a wide variety of sports and watches Newcastle Vipers ice hockey team whenever he can. He’s a County Durham lad and enjoys travelling; Gateshead, Sunderland, Durham, you name it – he’s been there. In 2012 Adam was voted OmniCom’s ‘nicest smelling technician’, a title he hopes to defend over the coming years.
