Mathletics: a digital teaching and learning resource designed to raise engagement and improve results in maths. The program can be used on a variety of devices (including iPads) and features hundreds of interactive activities, eBooks and videos to help develop fluency, problem solving and reasoning skills. Pupils marks can be marked immediately, making monitoring simple and you can even set differentiated tasks to promote independent learning, or to allow collaboration.

 

Dynamo Maths: specialising in overcoming dyscalculia, Dynamo Maths aims to support those children that struggle with maths by assessing and intervening. The online program begins with a simple assessment that is suited to the age of the individual (ages 6-9) before they then participate in interactive online modules and worksheets. You’re even able to use ready-made lesson plans with printable resources to provide evidence of the child’s approach to numbers.

 

MySchoolTests: an online portal designed to allow schools to create custom assessments from a large database of age appropriate authentic questions. Online teacher-led assessments can be used for tests for Year 1 up to Year 6, classroom practice tests and remediation. The questions emulate the National Curriculum, can be differentiated between students, are automatically marked and can be delivered both in school and as homework.

 

Reading Eggs: designed to encourage literacy skills, Reading Eggs is a digital teaching and learning resource that helps to promote a love of reading. For use on a variety of devices varying from laptops to tablets, the program contains a whole host of interactive literacy lessons and activities covering reading, comprehension, grammar and spelling. It provides immediate feedback, positive reinforcement and the ability to monitor and track progress.

 

LetterSchool: an intuitive handwriting game that helps children to learn all about letters, numbers, writing, counting and phonics. The App features 3 different games based on levels. Tap, to watch the letter be drawn, Trace to follow the lines given and then Write without any guide. The software comes with both uppercase and lowercase letters as well as a set of numbers from 1-10. As an advanced feature, LetterSchool lets you choose from three of the most popular typefaces used in education. Achievements are then marked by stars for everyone to see.

ColorCards Apps: these Apps help to achieve higher engagement by combining tried and tested content with the latest technology, resulting in fun and effective interventions. Used either in small groups, or one-on-one, the Apps assess and develop speech, language and communication as well as improving attention, sequencing, turn-taking and problem solving. The App can be personalised with your own images, personal profiles and the ability to record and measure progress.

 

Clicker Sentences: an App perfect for tablets that helps pupils to create sentences, understand how they are built and can cover any topic to help support the learners needs. Pupils simply tap each word to create the sentence and will receive realistic speech feedback, encouraging to re-read and check their work. Support is also available, with the option of providing model sentences in the form of pop-ups and oral prompts.

Braille Displays for iOS: iPads now have the ability to support more than 40 Bluetooth wireless braille displays. Simply pair the two together, turn on VoiceOver by triple clicking the Home button and you’re good to go!

 

Guided Access: although not an App, those schools who use iPads may benefit from this setting to prevent wandering taps and to help children stay on task. Guided Access temporarily restricts your device to a particular app and disables hardware buttons, as well as areas of the screen that aren’t relevant to a task.

Firefly: a fully customisable platform that works exactly how your school needs it to. By plugging into your schools existing systems including the MIS/SIS as well as cloud-based services like Office 365 and Google Apps, teachers are able to create content, message colleagues and mark work. Parents can even be kept informed with access to their child’s homework plans, school reports and messages from teachers. Firefly also integrates nicely with existing systems so if something changes in your MIS/SIS, it’ll change in Firefly too.

 

Canvas VLE: Canvas offers a huge range of highly customisable features with the aim to make teaching and learning easier. The App can be used on both iOS and Android devices. You’re able to record audio and video messages, automate tasks, connect parents and even set up custom notifications.

J2code: designed for pupils interested in computing, J2code is a set of stimulating tools and resources. Using coding engines, pupils are encouraged to write their own programs which can be taught using one of the suggested lesson plans. J2code can help to fulfil the requirements of the new computing curriculum with emphasis on ages 5-13. The program can be used on phones, tablets and computers and is based on three separate coding engines and offers Scratch and LEGO WeDo Integration.

 

Switched on Computing: provides a step-by-step introduction to coding. It includes a Teachers Book to allow you to gain the knowledge before starting a unit, including how the content is linked to the new Programme of Study. Short videos are included, as well as classroom posters highlighting key vocabulary and concepts. Assessment guidance is also provided to show what all, most and some children should be able to demonstrate.

ClassBuddy by LapSafe: an ultra-safe power management unit that provides simultaneous charging of all tablets and laptops with quick and easy access. ClassBuddy’s come in two ranges; Charge Only, or Charge & Sync in a variety of sizes to accommodate the number of devices you use. Target Tracker: the market leading package for whole school assessment, supporting analysis and sharing of pupil progress and attainment data for the new National Curriculum. PARS Connect: an integration with SIMS, PARS has been specifically designed and developed to help schools make meaningful use of their pupil performance data. The software can be used on PCs, Laptops and even iPads and phones – allowing for tracking and management to be done on the go. Benefits of the system include: SMS text notices to parents regarding absences and attendance etc, records data into SIMS in real-time, create and manage seating plans, log and track homework, rewarding pupils, free email, letter and phone call logging for parents, pupils and staff.

 

Classroom Monitor: the software with 3 easy steps allows for a quick and instant overview of assessments, targets and evidence of work. This can be done through the use of curriculum-mapped online markbooks to show progress and gaps in attainment at a glance. This also transfers into a live whole-school data dashboard to get an in-depth analysis of each pupil, cohort and vulnerable group progress.

CURA: a safeguarding system designed to record and manage all concerns relating to a child that have been identified by school staff. The software provides secure access to pupil data via SIMS, allowing quick access to files and information can easily be logged by any member of staff, including cover teachers, kitchen staff and playground assistants. Tracking of data is based on levels of authority, allowing the right members of staff to view, report on and refer data. These actions accumulate into a detailed and accurate pupil chronology, leaving less chance of anything being missed. The software includes automated responses, secure document storage, body mapping as well as a diary and reminder.

 

SMART amp: this cloud based digital software provides a way of connecting mobile devices without the need to install, update or maintain a variety of applications across different hardware and software platforms. SMART amp allows not just screen sharing, but also gives the ability for teachers and students to work together in real time to solve problems.

 

ActiveEngage2: using Promethean’s award-winning software ActivInspire, display a question and pupils will be able to respond using the virtual device on their computers or handheld devices. Assign quizzes and gain instant insight into student comprehension and progress with an intuitive, integrated application. Key features of this software include, a range of response types (full sentences, numbers, symbols, true/false etc.), cross-platform functionality and real-time reporting.
